If you can name 3 competitors who keep showing up where you don’t on Google, this service is for you. We don’t sell vague benchmarks or 50-page data dumps. We tell you the exact pages, links, and keywords moving competitors ahead, and the realistic actions you can take to close the gap. Three things most competitor analyses get wrong
Before paying for a competitor analysis, here is what to watch for. We have seen plenty of reports leave clients more confused than they started, and we have built our deliverable specifically to avoid those pitfalls.
Many SEO audits compare you to brands you would never realistically compete with on Google. We use Search Console data plus our SEO tools to find your actual search competitors (the sites genuinely ranking for the keywords your customers use), not the brands you happen to think of off the top of your head. If you have a list, we use it. If not, we propose 3 to 5 data-backed candidates and you pick.
Most competitor reports are 50 pages of charts you cannot act on. Ours starts with a 1-page summary: the top 3 things to do next week, the top 3 to tackle next quarter, and what to leave alone. The full data sits behind that, organised by topic, so you can dig in if you want or hand it straight to a developer or copywriter.
"Build more backlinks" is not an action. We tell you the specific domains your competitors get links from that you don't, the kinds of content earning those links, and how to do outreach (with templates). Same for content gaps: specific keywords, specific search intent, with a priority score per opportunity. By the end you know what to write, what to fix, and where to chase a link.
From order to actionable report in 7 business days
A predictable process focused on what you can do, not what you already know.
Quick call to lock in your goals, your top 10 keywords, and the 1, 3, or 5 competitors. If you don't have a competitor list, we suggest 3 to 5 data-backed candidates from search rankings, then you pick.
We pull keyword rankings, backlink profiles, content topics, technical SEO scores, and on-page metrics for you and each competitor across the same 10 keywords. We use a mix of Search Console (when available), Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and PageSpeed Insights, so the data crosses checks itself.
We compare every dimension (keywords, links, content, technical) and rank actions by impact vs. effort. The team picks the 6 to 10 highest-leverage moves for your situation, with a clear owner profile (developer, copywriter, marketer) for each one.
You receive the written report (PDF + spreadsheet), and a 30-minute walkthrough call to confirm priorities, answer questions, and decide who picks up what. From there, you can execute internally, hand the plan to another agency, or come back to us for implementation.
What a focused competitor analysis actually delivers
Numbers from real clients, measured over the 90 days following the analysis once they execute the recommended actions. Results vary with execution discipline, but the patterns are consistent.
Average number of keywords your competitors rank for that you don't, surfaced per analysis.
Average number of relevant referring domains your competitors have but you don't.
Prioritised actions tied to impact vs. effort, ready to execute or hand to an agency.
Typical time to see ranking improvement when the top 3 actions are executed within 30 days.
What people ask before signing up.
7 business days from the briefing call. Days 2 to 4 are data collection, days 5 to 6 are analysis and prioritisation, day 7 is delivery plus the 30-minute walkthrough call.
Up to 10 keywords across all competitors and your own site. If you have more keywords you would like covered, we can add them as an upgrade priced per additional set of 10.
No problem. Using Search Console data and our SEO tools, we identify 3 to 5 sites genuinely ranking for your target keywords. You then pick which ones to analyse based on the tier you ordered.
Strongly recommended, but not required. Without them we can still run a full external analysis (rankings, backlinks, content, technical), we just lose internal traffic and behaviour data. If you don't have them set up, we offer a fixed-fee Google setup service we can bundle.
No. The report opens with a 1-page plain-English summary (the 3 things to do next week, the 3 next quarter, what to ignore). Technical sections are explained inline so a marketing manager or business owner can act on them without an SEO background.
Same depth of analysis per competitor across keywords, backlinks, content, and technical SEO. Same delivery time. The 3 and 5 competitor tiers give you a clearer picture of patterns (e.g. which backlink sources show up across multiple competitors are usually the highest-priority targets).
It tells you how to fix them. Each prioritised action includes the specific change to make (page, target keyword, link source, technical fix), an estimated effort level, and the kind of person who should execute it (developer, copywriter, link-builder, marketer).
Only if you want us to. The Competitors Analysis is a standalone deliverable. You can execute internally, hand the report to your current agency, or hire us to implement specific items via our SEO management or content services.
One-off. We recommend re-running the analysis every 6 to 12 months, depending on how active your sector is. Repeat clients get a 20% discount on the same tier or above.
Yes. We adapt the analysis to your business model. For local businesses, we include Google Business Profile signals and local-pack rankings. For e-commerce, we include category-page comparisons and product-feed signals. For international SEO, we focus on hreflang, country-targeted content, and per-country backlinks.
We adjust the lens. Comparing against a giant tells you what is achievable long-term and where they are weak (often local, niche, or long-tail). Comparing against smaller players tells you who is climbing fast and what you can copy. We will recommend a balanced mix during the briefing.
Yes. The deliverable is yours. Share, copy, hand it to anyone who will execute. We don't gate-keep insights you have paid for.
